Our shelter population is about to increase by 400%. How is this possible? The kittens are coming!

There really is such a thing as “Kitten Season,” a high-breeding period for cats that begins in the spring and lasts through summer. On average, the Brown County Humane Society will receive more than 100 kittens in our tiny shelter in a matter of months.

Everyone loves an adorable little bundle of fur, but what starts as “awwww” can soon turn to “agghhh!” as resources and space quickly become stretched to the max. Now is the time to prepare and we need your help.
