What a story Patrick has. He was so scared and withdrawn when he came to the shelter we didn’t think he would ever be able to be in a home. But he now greets everyone happily, offering his head for scratches and head bumps.
Patrick is a charmer. He’s laid back and affectionate, preferring to sit quietly with you to watch the world, rather than chasing after toys. He’s very curious, though, and always has his eyes on the activity around him. His cute snaggle-tooth smile is irresistible.
Patrick may be positive for the feline leukemia virus (FeLV). His tests are inconclusive. Just in case, he shouldn’t live with cats that are negative for the virus.
With good care, a low-stress life, and plenty of affection, many FeLV+ cats live long lives. Whatever the years, they can live happy lives with the same positive qualities as other cats.
